Every Jewish person I know personally is pro-justice for the Palestinians.

Admittedly, most of them are Jewish Muslims. That is, people who are ethnically Jewish but follow the religion of Islam.

The notable individual who isn’t is the son of holocaust survivors, which, combined with being born in a refugee camp, probably explains his life-long campaign for peace and justice.

And among the people of Moses is a community that guides by truth and by it establishes justice. — Quran 7:159

There are many people of Jewish backgrounds fighting for a fairer world for all, free from discrimination, violence, and insecurity.

Their voices may be drowned out by well-funded and influential campaigners determined to cement a different narrative, but they persist nonetheless.

It is worth recalling that those loud voices exist on both sides.

Amongst those killed and held hostage on 7 October 2023 were lifelong peace activists, who helped Palestinians access medical treatment and fought to establish friendship across ethnic and religious divides.

Extremists exist on both sides, as does their propaganda. Unfortunately, at the moment, it’s the extremists who have gained ascendancy in many capitals of the world.

When self-serving extremists assume leadership and power, all people suffer. May God grant ascendancy to the truthful and just.

And among those We created is a community that guides by truth and thereby establishes justice. — Quran 7:181
