One thing I’ve learned in life is that you should never judge another until you’ve walked in their shoes.

Before we had children, I said many noble things about raising a family. But they were all founded on complete ignorance and informed by naïve idealism.

I judged men in unimaginably hard situations for walking out on their families, leaving their ex-partner to care for their children alone.

Easy to judge when you have no idea what they are going through in their lives. Easy when you have no reference point at all.

Best not to judge, I realise all these years later, for you never know what tests will be thrown your way in your own lifetime.

Who knows, perhaps you’ll become the one you judged so harshly.
