I have a colleague at work who, whenever we interact, greets me with the Muslim greeting of peace.
That is, “Peace be upon you!” To which I reply, “And upon you too.”
I find this both touching and amusing.
Touching because the chap in question is not a Muslim. And amusing, because he has no idea that I am.
That said, he attributes it more to Thora Hird than to any wise sage of the east.
And me? I consider it divine providence.
