Can all the talking heads in the media — journalist, influencer, proselytiser alike — not simply put themselves in the shoes of those innocents whose lives have been ripped to shreds?

Does occupying their shoes not drive you to silence? Does it matter whose side they were on? What faith they were? What colour their skin? What language they spoke?

Do you not glance upon your loved ones — your spouse, your children, your parents — then imagine all of them stolen from you by those driven to madness by their vengeful rage?

Do we not recall all the years we have spent together, in the mundane of our lives? The years praying for children? The struggles building a home? The love and laughter. The arguments and fights. All the things that moulded us into shape?

All of a sudden ripped away without warning. A horrendous mourning. Lives turned over forever. Wounds that may never heal. Do the talking heads not see themselves in those shoes? Does it not drive them to silence?
