Slander and gossip can be difficult to bear, especially if what is said about you is diametrically opposed to reality.
In the past, I wasted an age wondering, “How do you defend yourself when you don’t know what has been said about you?”
Mostly, by the time it occurred to me that I should challenge lies or misunderstandings, the opportunity would have passed, that door closed for good.
However, in time you learn that worrying about what others think about you is pointless. In the end you simply adopt the stance, “I no longer care.”
In any case, who knows what will be played out in the unseen?
One thing we can be certain about: whenever a person is the subject of an injustice but leaves the matter to God, his Lord will certainly come to his aid.
Hand your affairs over to God, be forgiving of those who wrong you, and let your anguish be an expiation for your sins.
