We are not experts. Our experience counts for nothing. If we set a framework up for them, based on best practices, they will immediately unpick it and go their own way. No, they don’t need to wait for the training session to get started; they already know. Indeed, they won’t even bother turning up for it, and it will pass them by without so much as an apology for having wasted another’s time, as they sat there waiting. No, it doesn’t matter if this was apparently extremely urgent, and you busted a gut setting it up for them urgently, well beyond working hours. We are not experts. We are ignorami, there to be ignored and disregarded, browbeaten into submission.
