The danger with doing a good job of anything is that you will only be asked to do more. If that’s your trade and it helps you attract more business, all good. But if it’s just a task you want to get out of the way and see the back of, not so much.

Case in point: there I was thinking I’d got the job of replacing rotten balustrades in our garden out of the way. But nope: apparently I did such a great job that now my beloved wants me to do the entire terrace.

I said that will be expensive — timber’s not cheap these days — to which she replied, “At least we don’t have to pay for labour.” The cheek of it! But of course, my love, right away. Your wish is my command.
