Guests descend and don’t leave. It’s nice that they feel comfortable in our company, but we ought to be given notice if we’re hosting a party. We thought they were just coming around for a cup of tea and slice of cake for an hour or so, but seven hours on they’re still going strong. Fortunately, as they’re all ladies and kids, I can easily retreat. All of the menfolk are busy and otherwise engaged. That’s our excuse, anyway.
