There’s no need for zealotry. We’re no longer over-excited teenagers, easily convinced by simple binaries.

We’re middle-aged folk, who have long established that diversity of opinion is a good thing, and have embraced the flexibility inherent in the path.

That’s why we pay no heed to the social media agitators playing dressing-up as little scholars. We’ve learnt to leave them to it, ignoring their risible performances.

That rendition of faith isn’t real to us anymore. It’s just a fiction, unreal. True faith is practical, bringing about positive change both within and in our communities.

The path we walk intends to create a safe and healthy environment for all. If we are not moving towards that, it is not the way. It’s time we started to act our age.
