Does kindness beget kindness? Not necessarily. Indeed, rarely so.
I once thought that if I treated people with kindness, they would respond in kind. But life has taught me otherwise.
Why persist in kindness then? A reasonable question. My view: because it’s the right thing to do.
Because kindness beautifies an action. How others choose to respond: that’s no business of mine.
