Oh my goodness, how did I end up taking so much on?
Hearing my lamentations, my wife suggests I speak to my manager. I point out that my manager has resigned because they couldn’t hack the workload either.
Then your manager’s manager, she suggests. Only, they resigned before them and has already left. Above them, it’s the CEO.
Then look down the chain to your team. Delegate something. That sounds utopian. Imagine that: a team you could delegate to. But this is a team that delegates upwards.
That’s precisely how I’ve ended up taking on so much work. I feel an evening shift coming on. It’s the only way.
