It’s open season on Muslim communities.
“Muslims — unlike Hindus, Sikhs, Chinese, and Poles — don’t integrate. They keep themselves separate, apart.”
So claim self-declared patriots, both white and brown, repeatedly.
Actually, numerous studies have found the very opposite to be true.
…most academic research argues that religious Muslims show a strong inclination towards integration in the wider British society, that they cherish British culture (e.g. in terms of democracy, rule of law and equality) and that they are no different from other communities in the United Kingdom in terms of their sense of belonging…
In reality, Muslims are integrated into every walk of life professionally, and in every economic strata.
If there appears to be a growing chasm between communities, it may have more to do with Muslims at large being constantly otherised, than their actual behaviour in society.
