It’s a pleasant walk to our local cami (mosque). It takes about fifteen minutes. The only scary stretch is the road that skirts the forest, close to home. Fearsome for in the forest lurk bears and wild boar. No wonder that on my ascent, my tongue is alive with dua.

In any case, we passed the road without event and journeyed on over the top. The camera doesn’t accurately capture the distances. It’s much closer than it looks.

The mosque has been completely renovated in the year since we were last here. Insulation, new tiles, and a lick of paint.

From the mosque, there’s a clear view back to our house and neighbourhood. Again, it’s closer than it looks here.

I return in time to avoid the rain, and to send my family on their way for a day trip. Peace at last, home alone. Let me make the most of it.
