“I can’t get a job, but these immigrants: they come here and walk straight into work.”
I agree. I can’t get a job as a dentist or doctor either. The exact same reason.
The reason being that this is how employment visas work.
You have to have confirmed sponsorship from your employer in order to come here to work.
And, of course, you have to be fully qualified for the role. And not have a criminal record.
Should those two conditions not be a problem, I am certain you’d be well-placed to secure your desired role in health or social care.
For the record, before they look overseas, employers do try everything to fill their 120,000 vacancies.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I, you, or your mates are the answer.
Nor do we have the answer. Other than a long-term ambition to train the indigenous workforce, and pay more.
Good luck with your preferred strategy: zero waiting lists, freeze immigration.
For that strategy to be successful, you will need to add one more: everyone, just stop being ill, hurting yourself, or needing care.
Problem solved.
