Beware of death, destroyer of pleasures.

This thought reverberates within, reflecting on the loss of an old friend.

While some of us are only just getting our lives in order, others have already completed theirs.

While some of us are still vying for a piece of the world, others have already left it.

If we thought we were destined to live long lives, this shakes us out of complacency.

What guarantee is there? None at all. We have already lost many along the way.

Perhaps it is time to live each day as if it were our last. To make each day our best.

To be mindful in every moment, dispensing kindness and consideration to everyone we interact with.

From God we come and to Him is our return.
