I am continually amazed by how many managers, no matter how senior or highly paid, completely lack the initiative to do a simple web search to find out how to complete a task.
Instead, they will compose a longwinded email to a colleague, explaining why they need to call on their wisdom and expertise, which they will then follow with a nagging reminder an hour later when they don’t get a response in time.
I accepted long ago that most people don’t have the basic prerequisites to do their job, but the least you could do is learn how to consult readily-available online guidance to pretend you’re competent.
