I must confess that despite my best efforts, DIY is not really my forte. Was I really attempting to thread that fitting backwards? Who knows?*

One of many reasons I’m not a professional. Another, drilling ten small holes in the wall, resulting in a mountain of black dust everywhere, staining yesterday’s fresh white silicone a fetching shade of grey.

And one more? The fact it’s taken me four hours to fit a new shower and screen. A job which would probably have taken a professional just half an hour.

Still, it’s starting to look quite nice. I might pat myself on the back if it doesn’t end in disaster. Plus, I barely swore at all this time around. Family knows to leave me to it, undisturbed.

*Update from manufacturer: no it was not me. The fitting had a counter-clockwise thread, which would explain why I couldn’t connect it for the first twenty minutes of trying.
