It is pure delusion to consider yourself a true believer, and all others misguided. Even more so if your doing so is nothing more than giving allegiance to a particular community, or a set of teachers, or a label you assign yourself.

And hold firmly to the rope of God all together and do not become divided. And remember the favour of God upon you — when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favour, brothers.

Qur’an 3:103

Our Book says those who will be successful are the ones who invite to all that is good and virtuous, who enjoin what is right, and discourage all that’s bad. Our success is determined by how we actually live our lives.

“But the people divided their religion among them into sects — each faction rejoicing in what it has.”

Qur’an 23:53

If any of us dared read the Book we proclaim, we would find that it mostly stands against us. You think yourself a true believer, unlike all the others? Did you not see it written, “So do not claim yourselves to be pure. God knows best who is righteous!”
