I’ll take that as a sign. Just as I was contemplating devices with folding displays, the hinge on my wife’s flip phone started playing up.
If she knew, she’d say I’d given her poor phone nazar, harming it with my envy. Maybe I did, who knows?
On the other hand, maybe it was just timely happenstance, convincing me not to waste my money on expensive tech. After all, I’ve always made do with budget devices up until now, which have served me perfectly well.
If I did ultimately decide I really needed some kind of pocketable tablet after all, there’s always the option of a refurbished S21 or Note20 Ultra, both now available at bargain prices. A much more sensible proposition in the long run than some newfangled novelty tech.
Let’s face it: I’m not a jettsetting entrepreneur in need of an ultra portable productivity device. I spend most of my life sat at a workstation in front of two large screen displays.
What has me in its grip just now is not need, but want. Daily we must petition ourselves not to simply become slaves to our own desires.
Better to send the money set aside for unnecessary tech to earthquake survivors or those reeling from floods instead.
