It’s funny: a week ago, we were saying we couldn’t wait to return to cool England. Now we’re back, it turns out it’s hotter here than it was there. So hot that none of us can sleep, sweltering in the ceaseless heat. At least there we had the mountain breeze. Here, just the chatter of restless neighbours.
