Is it not interesting that the Quran consistently rebukes those who hide, cover or conceal the truth?
That being the case, shouldn’t those who consistently conceal the truth amongst us give pause for thought?
Instead of devotedly advocating for others by concealing or obscuring the truth, should we not instead focus our minds on the consequences of doing so?
Or, conversely, of being witnesses to the truth, even if it seems to be against our own selves or our interests?
O you who have believed, persistently stand firm for God, witnesses in justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear God; indeed, God is acquainted with what you do.
Quran 5:8
The same Book says do not be an advocate for the deceitful. It says do not argue on behalf of those who deceive themselves.
It reminds us that though we may conceal deeds or information from people, we cannot conceal it from God, the all-encompassing.
God is indeed sufficient for the truthful. Be people of truth, therefore, regardless of the demands of men.
