We have role models of our own. We don’t need those pushing social media pyramid schemes sustained by generating controversy and outrage, taken to ever greater extremes.
We have inspirational men and women ahead of us, steeped in learning and wisdom, devoted to truly serving others: these are our role models. Look to those living humble lives, who call us away from the selfish service of our own passions, ego and wanton greed.
The path we walk strives to honour men and women, and raise their status in the sight of God. It calls us to reform the worst parts of ourselves, to tame our lusts, to speak with wisdom, to imbibe mercy and compassion, and fix our intentions. The very opposite of the lessons of the online cesspit, which prioritizes every lowly trait.
Steer your children towards wholesome role models. Better still, be a role model to them yourself.
