I love Logitech’s backlit bluetooth keyboard. Recently purchased to replace the cheaper K380, which I’ve been using the past three years. That one has served me well enough, but has started to squeak, presumably because our lad managed to get marmalade into the switches.

An external keyboard is a must with the 2017 MacBook Pro, which despite being an excellent laptop in every other way, has the worst keyboard I have ever used. My go-to laptop for writing and editing is a 2012 MacBook Pro, due to its excellent built-in keyboard, but that’s no help for work.

Being a multi-device keyboard, it is easy to toggle between laptop and two Samsung Dex devices — tablet and phone. It’s a lovely typing experience. Keys are very comfortable and I’ve got up to speed touch-typing in no time. Really, a delight to use.

Being an ethnic northerner, I’m too much of a cheapskate to consider paying that much money for a keyboard normally, but I think this is a sound investment. Kids have had clear instructions not to use this keyboard with jammy hands — or at all. They can have my old one, which, paired with the Baseus Switch Dock, will turn a Dex device into a competent mobile computer.

The mouse in the picture above is the Logitech MX Ergo trackball. I’m not sure I can recommend that one though. It was excellent when I first got it, but became very temperamental a few OS upgrades ago. I’m not sure if MacOS is to blame or — once again — the early morning gamer who insists on taking control while eating toast and honey. I’m blaming the latter, which is how I justify commandeering his £5 mouse, which turns out to suit me fine.
