Honestly, I’m burnt out, exhausted, demotivated, perpetually tired, disinterested, disengaged, utterly bored. I know I’m not alone. I need a break, a holiday, a sabbatical, a complete change of scenery.
I hardly recognise work anymore, for all of the personnel around me have changed, and we all look at each other with mutual incomprehension. I wonder what has happened to the role I enjoyed; it has become dreary and monotonous.
Yes, comes the inevitable retort, that’s why it’s called work! Maybe this cog in the machine just needs some TLC. A squirt of oil. Some new challenge.
