Faced with the perpetual bickering of a brother and sister so close in age, I really have to marvel at my parents who raised four of us. How on earth did they manage?
I suppose my dad always had the excuse of a busy day to work late to avoid the teatime mayhem. But my poor mum. I remember her looking on helplessly as my two older brothers would go racing off upstairs for a scrap midway though dinner.
And then there was me, perpetually arguing with my sister. No wonder my parents just tuned out in the end and threw themselves into their work. I suppose I can’t blame them really. It grows seriously wearisome.
Ah, but of course, we love them to bits.
