I still don’t understand why the pious Hanafi insists on bashing Muslims who hold positions wholly consistent with those of Abu Hanifa, by appealing to the opinions of the most rigorous contemporary Hanbali scholar any of us know.
Just leave them be. The common Muslim only wants to know how to earn a halal livelihood, worship his Lord correctly, act justly in his daily transactions and take care of those around them. The obsession with regulating the minutiae of what people think and believe in their hearts… just leave them be.
There’s a crisis out there in the world… extreme poverty, kids killing other kids with knives, drug addiction, sexual abuse, domestic violence, nihilism. The masses don’t care about this dumb apparition of scholarship. They just want to know how to live their lives amidst the trials and tests of the world.
