Dear Richard Branson,
You have managed to accumulate four billion dollars of personal wealth in your lifetime. Good for you.
Virgin Atlantic is one of your children, as you put it. You still retain a 51% stake in the company.
That child is now in difficulty due to global events beyond anyone’s control. So you have asked 8,500 of your employees to take unpaid leave for 8 weeks.
Is that the Big Society in action? If you were to pay their wages out of your pocket change, you’d still have three billion, nine hundred and sixty-five million dollars left.
Do something.
Yours etc.
P.S. Same goes for you, Jeff Bezos. Instead of sending rockets to mars, how about investing in free healthcare for your fellow citizens? Something to be remembered for. Look up Joseph Rowntree.
