It is easy to be awestruck by Muslim activists. They often have impressive beards. They advocate for the right political causes. When they speak, they employ religious vocabulary. In their daily interactions, they seem to be on the side of the poor and the oppressed.
However, once you look beyond appearances, often the reality is quite different. Often these people are not serious about religion at all. They are people who cover, instead.
They cover for people accused of serious wrong doing, without even a shadow of remorse or embarrassment. No, it’s worse than that. They actively participate in promoting them, boosting their reputation and standing in the eyes of their followers. In the name of men, they lie and cheat, hoodwinking the masses with pious conversations and conspiracy theories.
These people are not serious about religion at all.
