My ego says to me: “Those people broke you. Go seek revenge!”
But in reflective mood, I reply: “If they had not broken me, I would not have sought to be fixed. So, in fact, I am indebted to those people.”
My ego then says to me: “You must be known.”
But, subdued, I reply: “I am remembered by those that matter to me.”
This ego must be tamed. Choose forgiveness, humility and contentment.
