Call them back

How many have been driven away from the truth by sectarianism? May the One guide those same souls back to the truth once they have overcome their traumas or whatever it is that has taken them away.

Will the factions not reflect upon the words of the Book which called us to faith in the first place?

“But the people divided their religion among them into sects — each faction rejoicing in what it has.”

Qur’an 23:53

Are not the words of the Book enough for us, calling us away from the madness which causes us to annihilate the new believer, just because you convinced yourself that you could read his or her heart? Do you not see that we were enemies, but he made us brothers? Do you not see that we were on the edge of a destruction, but he pulled us back?

And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favour of Allah upon you — when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favour, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.

And let there be from you a nation inviting to good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful.

And do not be like the ones who became divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them. And those will have a great punishment.

Qur’an 3:103-5

Hold firmly to His rope, and call back to those you have cut adrift. Call out after them. Throw them the rope. Call them back.
