No kindness

I understand it is a step too far for some men to consider their spouse their equal, but some can’t even let them be their deputy. Instead, they have to be their subordinate, lowly and inferior, to be given orders, as he thrashes around, raises his voice and strikes with his hand anything that moves. He demands respect, he cries, reminding everyone else of their place. Here is a man who never learnt the humility that faith demands. “And do not work on the earth haughtily,” completely forgotten within the confines of his four walls. No, he is exultant about his own brilliance, and soon he will walk out of that door for good. There is no kindness here.
